Access is an outpatient behavioral health clinic. We serve people of all communities and currently offer two locations in Boise and in Nampa. Our desire is to help improve the quality of daily life for our clients.

The owners have been in the field of human services for a combined 30+ years. At Access we pride ourselves on providing best-practice client-centered services.

Susan Day

Susan L. Day is an experienced Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Access Behavioral Health Services, where she provides comprehensive mental health care to diverse populations. Her services include diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Susan’s academic journey in nursing began with an Associate of Science in Nursing from the College of Southern Idaho. She then earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Idaho State University and completed her PMHNP degree at Maryville University of St. Louis. Her career has spanned various roles and paths, teaching her the invaluable lesson that there is no room for judgment in healthcare.

Her professional experience includes working as an RN at the bedside in hospital settings, where she provided compassionate and skilled care. Susan’s passion for teaching led her to become a Teaching Assistant at Idaho State University, followed by faculty positions at the College of Southern Idaho and Boise State University. As a professor, she focused on the neurologic system, driven by her deep curiosity about the brain and the science of mental health.

Having lived among many different cultures, Susan brings a unique and enriching perspective to her practice. She is deeply curious and enjoys getting to know her patients, learning about their life journeys and future goals. This cultural sensitivity enhances her ability to connect with and support individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Susan’s approach to mental health care is grounded in a non-judgmental philosophy. She believes in the importance of understanding that each person’s experiences are unique. Her practice is characterized by openness, honesty, passion, and persistence. Susan is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their personal goals and a better quality of life, whatever that looks like to them.
