Amber Dillon
Licensed Professional Counselor/LPC ABHSMental Health Clinic

Hi! I’m Amber Dillon, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor here at Access Behavioral Health Services. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from Boise State University. My goal when I work with anyone is that they feel respected, heard, understood, safe, in control, not alone, and that we are doing things to help make their lives better. My Theoretical approach is person-centered, which focuses on providing a supportive environment in which clients can reconnect with their true identity or authentic self. I feel passionate about the practice and benefits of humanistic therapies such as child-centered play therapy and sand tray therapy. My philosophy on people is that I believe that everyone is a snowflake, meaning that everyone is unique and complex.

Finding the right counselor fit can be hard. To help give you an idea of about me a short list of people I admire most includes: Fred Rogers, Dolly Parton, Patrick Stewart, Bob Ross, LeVar Burton, Audrey Hepburn, and Jim Henson.  When I’m not working, I love to go to dance fitness classes, going for walks, doing something creative, learning, and spending time with my two cats.
